What You Will Do: As the Facilities Worker, you will be responsible for executing routine, emergency, and seasonal maintenance and janitorial duties of the Yosemite NatureBridge campus, offices, housing, vehicles, and grounds. Your secondary responsibilities include working closely with the Facilities Director to identify, develop, and execute projects to improve Yosemite’s facilities. This position takes place at our campus in Yosemite National Park and cannot be performed remotely. Your primary job will be to: Perform routine and emergency maintenance on NatureBridge vehicles, student campuses, offices, residences and grounds. Perform routine cleaning and custodial maintenance of NatureBridge vehicles, student campus, offices, residences, grounds and the Merced Grove cabin. Remove snow from NatureBridge’s student campus. Haul, split, deliver and stack firewood for NatureBridge’s student campus, offices, residences and the Merced Grove cabin. Recommend short and long term maintenance priorities to the Facilities Director. Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, supplies. Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work environment (work sites, shops, trucks, and storage areas) Work overtime or weekends as requested by the supervisor. Promote a sense of support and team effort. Participate in Facilities and other staff meetings as required. Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Compensation: $20-23 hourly wage Medical, dental and vision insurance Option for a 403b retirement plan with employer match after six months Generous paid vacation, training days and sick leave Other benefits include Employee Assistance Plan (EAP), Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and more Who You Are: We are looking for candidates who have: One year certificate from college or technical school and 6 months of related experience; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in maintaining buildings and grounds and/or related experience. Basic technical skills in the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, drywall, and painting. Able to work well with other NatureBridge staff, National Park Service employees, program participants and visiting public. Excellent problem solving skills. A flexible, positive attitude, excellent judgment and safety consciousness Promptness and the ability to work independently and within a team environment Current driver's license and clear driving record required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations. Ability to use a device (computer, tablet, phone etc) to complete a time card, answer Help Desk tickets, correspond via email and or other messaging applications.
